Construction has restarted!

Of all the scenarios we envisaged where the building of our new mobile laboratory outreach bus might fall behind, a global pandemic was not one of them!

Covid-19 unfortunately meant that work on our bus ground to a halt back in March as Lothian Vehicle Bodybuilders Ltd. (LVB) were forced to shut up shop. The good news is that they are now back to work and started slogging away on the bus again as soon as they could.

Some of our team went out to West Lothian recently to pay them a visit and talk about the latest progress. We were blown away by what changes had been made since we last saw it. The interior is almost complete, with brand new custom-made storage, a sink and hob, and some comfy seating - complete with a lovely embroidery of our Centenary logo.

It is evident that the team at LVB have really enjoyed working on this unique project, as evidenced by how enthusiastically they spoke about what they were doing. They even presented us with a gift - a large print of the original Moredun bus to hang up on the wall inside.

Moredun's Senior Graphic Designer is currently working closely with LVB and professional animator Selina Wagner (the artistic talent behind all of our disease animations: https://bit.ly/moredun-animations) to design the artwork for the outside of the bus. We won't share what it is yet - we're looking forward to the grand reveal! - but we have ensured that all the main areas of Moredun research are represented.

It is hoped that the bus will be ready within the next month. We can't wait to see the final result!
