We were happy to take the BioBus out to visit our second primary school on Thursday 1st December, where we spent the afternoon at Echline Primary in South Queensferry.
This time we had the delight of carrying out our "Healthy Sheep are Happy Sheep" workshop with around 30 P1s - though our Bus certainly caught the interest of all the other year groups as we parked up in the middle of their playground!

A dreich day didn't spoil the fun!
Setting up our 'Healthy Sheep are Happy Sheep' workshop.
"Healthy Sheep are Happy Sheep" introduces the children to very simple concepts regarding sheep health and welfare. We explained that our sheep is sick, and we need to make him feel better. There are several reasons why it could be poorly through infections from bacteria, parasites or viruses. The children got to see some real parasites on board the BioBus and learnt that we make medicines for sick sheep, just as we give medicine to sick people to make them well again.
All of the children were very engaged with the activities and enjoyed the day.
